Our History

Cedarwoods Schoolhouse was founded based on the principle that Islamic education must be specialized in the U.S. and beyond.  Our belief is that the ailments of our society are due to our lack of focus on education and creating sustainable schools.  As part of our ongoing effort to improve and sustain Cedarwoods Schoolhouse, we value research and education on how children learn, on appropriate applications of Islamic teachings in everyday life, research on the methods and traditions applied by the Prophet (peace and blessings upon him), and a clear understanding of political, racial, linguistic and social structures that exist in our current society.

Therefore, Cedarwoods is founded with a eagerness to learn and employ research based education as well as the teachings of the Prophet (peace and blessings upon him) as we strive toward establishing a sustainable school.
